Welcome Educators to the 2022-2023 School Year!

We are thrilled to kick off the new school year with exciting updates and resources as you plan this Fall.

Colorado Art Awards Inc. is now the official Colorado Art Affiliate of the Scholastics Art & Writing Awards.

Over the summer, the volunteer team collaborated with the community, educators, and artists to form the Colorado Art Awards Inc., a Nonprofit Corporation, to better serve you and your students. What might this mean to you? More resources, student programming, and opportunities, and more collaboration between all of us!

Meet our New Directors

We greatly appreciate the work of our team and teacher volunteers. Pam Starck retired after serving more than 20 years with the Colorado Art Scholastics team. We are thankful for her dedication and service and wish her joy in retirement with her friends and loved ones.

Introducing the new leadership team:

ABOUT PAUL

Paul D. Weinrauch is a passionate corporate and portrait photographer based in Colorado since 2005. Paul’s passion became a purpose back in 1999 when he sold everything, traveled across the country for years, and captured his entire journey through a lens. Although he continues to operate his photography business, his primary mission in life is to be of service to others. Currently, he is the Department Chair of the Visual, Audio, & Media Arts (VAMA) Department at Red Rocks Community College and Director of Colorado Art Awards Inc.

ABOUT MIRANDA

Long time volunteer, Miranda has been involved for over 10 years both in Colorado and New Mexico. A designer by trade, she was with RMCAD during the exhibitions for Scholastics and then became the Web Master and Designer for the team. Over the years, Miranda has grown in leadership helping to move the program forward. Currently, Miranda works within Jeffco Public Schools as a Career Links Specialist and freelance designer and is passionate about recognizing students for their creative talents. When not volunteering, you’ll find her cheering her kids on at sports and with her 4 fur babies at home.

Pictured here are some of the volunteers who we thank for their commitment and service to Scholastics! Thank you!
